Celebrate the end of the year with a Strong SacTown Movie Night! We’ll pivot from our usual documentary with a screening of *batteries not included (1987), a heartwarming sci-fi film featuring housing fights, community-building, and little flying aliens. It calls to us. ๐พ
In this 107-minute movie, aliens help save a group of tenants living in the East Village of New York from eviction and the threat of overdevelopment.
We’ll gather with potluck-style snacks and chat about the (maybe unexpected) messages this story has about housing. ๐๏ธ
