Tell City Council: Don’t add cars to Truxel Bridge

We need your help to stop a roadway expansion that would dig Sacramento deeper in to debt and car-dependency!

Join us at City Council to take a small step towards ending major road expansions and ending the Suburban Experiment in Sacramento. Please unite in supporting the recommendation for council to direct staff to evaluate a NO-CAR Truxel bridge. Natomas deserves a walkable and economically productive Main Street, NOT a bigger stroad for 7k additional daily car trips and more maintenance debt than Sacramento can afford.

Time: 5 PM – 8 PM
Location: City Hall, 915 I St

Talking Points:

  • Our Ask: Direct staff to evaluate a Truxel Bridge alternative without personal motor vehicles.
  • Truxel is on the high-injury network, but 7000 more daily car trips on this road will make it harder to diet and improve safety.
  • There is already a 10-lane freeway intersection 1/2-mile from the bridge’s north side entrance.
  • Expanding major roads for cars incentivizes more suburban development, but suburban development is fiscally insolvent.
  • A 2x wider bridge with cars has 2x the environmental impact.
  • Natomas deserves a walkable Main Street, not a bigger stroad.
