Council Members Mai Vang and Katie Valenzuela are championing an initiative to prioritize funding for the implementation of the Active Transportation Commission’s Subcommittee 9 recommendations from their 2022 annual report. This is a significant moment in our ongoing efforts to create safer transportation options in our city.
Despite facing a projected $66 million budget deficit for the 2024-25 fiscal year, Councilmembers Vang and Valenzuela are taking a stand to ensure that active transportation remains a priority. This action sends a strong message to the City Council about the importance of prioritizing active transportation, especially in light of upcoming fiscal challenges.
